I've played this game in person before trying it on BGA. It took too long with three of us searching to figure out where the card row was. Constantly scrolling down to click on the tiny card row cards in order to enlarge them enough to see them, closing them, and then scrolling back up to see the inky realm (and in particular my resources) really spoiled my playthrough experience on BGA. A turn often involved having to go through this process two or three times. It isn't fun to have to fight a UI in order to play. In person you can see the card row at all times and I feel that should be possible here too because it is fundamental to decision making. The display of the Inky Realm tiles is much bigger than it needs to be and so I think that if those tiles were reduced by 25% there would be ample room to have the card row above the Inky Realm.
Speaking of, the Inky Realm does have a toggle to press the minus sign to make it smaller, but it then becomes tiny and I can't see it well enough to play. Would be lovely to have an in-between step of sizing.
I think that if I could just see the Inky Realm, Card Row, and my Resources all at the same time it would be much easier to play this on BGA. I really appreciated how the cards in my hand could be toggled to drop down a bit more so that they stopped obscuring my view of the Inky Realm. I think I would have struggled a great deal with all of the symbols on the cards if I didn't already know how to play the game, something to consider for people trying to play it for the first few times. But maybe you're already planning on adding mouse-over information about what each card does.
Lastly, for the resources, it would be extremely helpful if we knew how many of a given resource we have being contributed by our played cards. Since we can't sort the cards into neat stacks which are relevant to each of the five resource types like I do on the table, and the game is clearly already tracking how many resources we have on cards, hopefully it would be relatively easy to add that info into our resource tracker. A number in brackets, or a number on top of a little card symbol. This would also contribute to reducing the amount of scrolling up and down constantly.
Thank you so much for bringing this very fun (and hilarious) game to BGA. Hope my personal experience and feedback helps! -

I think the main crux of the suggestion is this:
> I've played this game in person before trying it on BGA.
> It took too long with three of us searching to figure out where the card row was
Can you help me understand if that's the same suggestion (card row layout) and, if not, what the distinction is?
There also seem to be several other ideas mixed in here that are making it difficult for me to sort things out. For this reason, among others, we have a strict "one issue per report" policy. Without it, it's difficult for users to know what to vote for (what if they like part of a suggestion, but not all the additional ideas?) and for us to provide feedback (what if we reject one idea, but love another)? Most of all, it makes it difficult for you to know when we've completed a ticket (it's market complete, so which portion did we actually do?).
I will comment on one other suggestion in here, though, because it's important.
> I think I would have struggled a great deal with all of the symbols on the cards
> if I didn't already know how to play the game, something to consider for people
> trying to play it for the first few times.
Indeed. It's important to draw a distinction between a helpful interface and one that teaches you the game. In this case, we expect the basics to be covered by the tutorial and, more importantly, a reference sheet may be available in the How To Play section at the bottom of the game page. (Did you know that's a wiki that anyone can edit? You'll be able to add anything in there that you think is helpful!)
> Thank you so much for bringing this very fun (and hilarious) game to BGA.
> Hope my personal experience and feedback helps!
Love the feedback. Cosmoctopus is a terrific game with a fun, campy theme. My whole family loves it. Glad you do, too!
What sort of device are you playing on? You can easily see all three at once on a PC monitor. For smaller devices, it's not necessarily even possible to create a layout that shows all three across all viewport sizes.
