You can see quite clearly in t he game log and on your player board that you gained +2 heat production.
Your opponent then played "heat trappers", which reduced your heat production by 2.
(This is the third such "bug" report in the last 2 days. I am guessing that you and the other two players who reported a similar issue are not looking at the game log to see which cards your opponents have played. In all 3 cases, the "heat trappers " card was played immediately, and shows clearly in the log what happened to the heat production.)
