It appears from our game that there's some potential for players to be confused about which color they are playing.

12 jul 2020 2:52 • When it is your turn, there is a glow effect on your cart when it is on the board and to the entry spaces on your side of the board when you have a cart available to deploy. You may need to do a hard refresh (ctrl+F5) to see it.

15 jul 2020 20:53 • This is anecdotal, but at table #100694269 the red player (not me) started out thinking he was blue, despite the glowing border. Might be worth an informal survey in the OtR players' group to see a lot of people are still having this problem? I wonder if people tend to not mention color confusion, because they think "oh I just made a silly mistake" instead of assuming that the game setup might contribute to the confusion. I figure if we were playing this in real life, I would obviously be sitting at my side of the board, so it would be much harder to get confused about which color I am.

16 jul 2020 5:48 • I'd lean more toward a user error at this point, since your player color is indicated or reinforced in more places than most other games on BGA. In addition to the standard highlighting and coloration of the player board sidebar, the action bar and notification log, this adaptation also shows your color carts in the action palette and implements the glowing effects suggested here. Anything further would be overkill.
