I saw this once before on another game but didn't think too much about it. I don't remember which one it is, but I assume this happens each time.

You're saying this is not a bug and supplying a rules document to show that. Except that the pdf clearly states, in more than one place (page 14 of the pdf[labelled as page 12 at the bottom] and page 17 [labelled as page 15], that you can have a flush with 4 cards of the same suit in the hand and score 4 points. If the starter card is the same as well then you score 5. I've just had this on table 175387282 and am now short 4 points.

four-card flush (only in the hand) — 4
five-card flush — 5

It states only in Hand, meaning not applicable to the crib. Using the example above Crib has 4 hearts but a Spade was cut so it is not a 5 card flush.

You have 4 clubs and one diamond so not a 5 card flush.

However, in the crib, only a 5-card flush will count (the 4 cards in the crib and the turn-up card must all be the same suit).

I've realised what you're saying now, apologies, I'd mis-read the rule. Strange that you don't get it in the crib unless it's a 5 card flush, but hey, we have to follow the rules. Thanks for clarifying.
