This has happened to me in 2 of the 3 games I played. I had the squirrel animal and got used to drawing 3 cards, then lost it. Next turn, I wanted to draw cards once but accidentally took 3 cards. I was forced to use take care action twice, with no undo or cancel button. Very frustrating.
