I had holographic projection + cute fuzzy alien creature. Opponent had bug-eyed monster + energy being.
I played Alien Life Forms goal (any two of these three) and opponent was immediately awarded victory even though we both met the goal. I had two plays remaining (Play 3).

Actually this should not even be a tie, as the Star Fluxx faq also explains that the Holographic projection really means you have the keeper in front of you and they don’t:
