I believed the rules say that opponents dead groups should be removed first after a capture is initiated, then your own dead groups should be removed.

This technically happens at the moment, they are removed in steps but when the opponent’s groups are removed that should lead to some new lifelines for ones on groups and they should not be removed I believe.
