• Por favor, copia/pega el mensaje de error que ves en tu pantalla, si hay alguno.
Don't remember exactly, but something like this:
New matches should start at least maximum game time later.• Por favor, explica lo que querías hacer, lo que hiciste y lo que pasó
In a roundrobin tournament usually all matches start at the same time.
I wanted to have a new match start at every 3 days, while the maximum total match time was set at 15 days.
It didn't let me set the dates, claiming that new matches should start at least 15 days later, but there is absolutely no need to wait for the previous match to end in roundrobin. They start simultaneously anyway.• ¿Qué navegador estás usando?

When setting up starting times for a round robin tournament
the system checks whether rounds overlap
and disallows overlaps.
This check is foolish and should be omitted.

In fact, it can be tedious to have many real-time games at the same time.
The bug, however, has devastating consequences for turn-based games:
round-robin tournaments with overlapping rounds would be the only reasonable time scheme that combines both:
1) a manageable length of the tournament
2) a sufficient amount of time for players to complete their games.
Perhaps the best solution is to downgrade the error messages from errors to warnings.

18 dic 2019 14:55 • We accidently started a round robin, turn based tournament, where all games started at once. Luckily, there were only 6 participants. But even so, the game load was immense.
I tried a time scheme with 3 games every 2 weeks - but this fails to, because you can't choose 14 days playing time, only 15. So my game plan moves by one weekday per cycle, bad for people who like consistency.
Please remove the overlap check für turn-based round robin!

17 ene 2020 20:03 • Even worse: my workaround backfired horribly.
What I did: I scheduled Game 4, Game 7, Game 10 and Game 13, with distances of 15 days. It was impossible to schedule Game 5 and 6 for the same day as Game 4, I had to leave it at ASAP.
And it seemed to be good! Before the beginning of the tournament, BGA showed me that 3 games would start every 15 days.
And now, after the tournament has started? Games 4, 7, 10 and 13 are waiting as scheduled. All other games have startet on day one. Impossible to manage for my players!

28 feb 2021 20:32 • I'm not sure what current fixes / workarounds are active since this bug was originally opened, but whatever scheme has been chosen for a round-robin tournament needs to be clearly displayed on the main tournament page.
Without any other information, my expectation would be that a round-robin tournament would work similarly to a Swiss tournament, where players all finish their first round 1 game, then all start their round 2 game against the next player.
But I recently joined a round-robin turn-based tournament, with playing hours that were not in my local timezone (see other bug: boardgamearena.com/bug?id=33960 ), and all 7 of the games started bang, bang, bang, about 5-10 minutes apart, all within about 1 hour.
I had no warnings and since holiday time jokers do not work for tournaments, I was lucky that I was only kicked out of 1 game, suffering a small karma penalty. The other 6 players were kind enough to attempt to play it out with my negative clock, although 3 of those games still ended by hitting the maximum game length (and I lost with my negative clock).
Please display the expected staggered start times on the main tournament information page, along with an estimate of the possible maximum number of simultaneous games that you might need to play.

1 jun 2022 20:24 • I hate this kind of tournament exactly for this reason: maybe I am in love with a game but, all at once, I am forced to play 15 games at once and this really makes me puke. A delayed start for all the matches, like what happens in soccer competitions with round-robin, would be much much better

Please let the tournament creator configure a turn-based round-robin so that, for example, the max game length is 10 days, with a new game starting every three days (whether or not the players' previous game is finished). With a schedule like that, you could reasonably have a round-robin with 25 competitors, and each player would usually be playing only two or three at a time. That would be great. As the comments above indicate, this has been an issue going back to 2017, now would be a great time for BGA to address it.

13 nov 2022 23:51 • 100% agree with these suggestions. I just played in my very first tournament here, which was a 2-phase round robin (by the way, searching for round robin in the forums did not give me any idea on what to expect. aka: this problem). Phase 1 had me play 5 games simultaneously. Even that was too overwhelming for me. 2 or 3 games offset by even a day or two would be perfect. 5 starting at the same time was too much.
I qualified for round 2, and was hit with 11 simultaneous games. Way too overwhelming. Unable to concede the games because it's a tournament, so I threw all 11 and lost intentionally. I will not be doing another tournament anytime soon, because this is such a ridiculous, bad experience.

When we set up ourselves round robin turn by turn matches, there shouldn't be an overlap check.

10 oct 2024 15:34 • The most absurd part, is that if you don't touch anything, and set the match in "as soon as possible" they all are launched at the same time !
So no issue with having a player with 14 matches launched at the same time, but if 2 matches overlapped, that's a no x)

31 oct 2024 18:35 • I would also really like this fixed! My favorite game has entirely 2 player turn based tournaments and I am unable to host good round robin tournaments because of this!
RR tournament setup should simply include a drop down option to choose the time gap between starting each match. This way players that sign up can confirm the pace of new games starting. This would be a huge improvement on the current system which defaults to 0 time between new games regardless to game duration (real time or slow) and has match scheduling hidden.
