This problem didn't appear every time but I would definitely say there would be a mistake around 20% of the time when using investigator.

I think I understand why it's making that mistake, nonetheless it's a serious bug and right now I am asking all of my opponents to verify my information as well as their own to prevent suffering from the glitch.

i also had this happen on game 40121344 where i had the trocadero card with adjacent cube then when i placed investigator on that space said no matches

Game 40106519 move #32 (lachimi going to Rick's Café) is correct: there *is* already a blue cube on Doc for the adjancency to Pop. Placing an investigator where there is already a disc or cube on a tile does *not* place another cube/tile for that aspect. The log message is a little misleading though, that is true. It should mention the full number of matches, I think. So, to improve the wording of the game log, I see two options:

1. "$player sent an investigator to $location. *New* matches: ...."
2. "$player sent an investigator to $location. Matches: $correctnumber"

If I go for 2., would it confuse players if it says, e.g. "matches: 1 exact, 1 adjacent" an then only 1 token appears on the investigator tile, because the other token is already on the aspect tile? Obviously moving the token from a tile to the investigator is not an option as this would reduce the amount information again (which doesn't make sense).

Also — please correct me, I'm really not very good at the game itself — but usually it’s not a very good move to put an investigator where you already have some information. In some edge cases, yes, I can be the best option. But in the two situations I'm looking at right now there were better locations to go to to gain more knowledge ;)

Quoting the official rules: “If you already have discs and/or cubes in the location then these
would be taken into consideration by the player holding the Case cards, making sure that a specific tile did not receive another disc or cube.“

So, if going by that, one could argue that the game log should as closely as possible imitate a real player, then the log should say something like: “Place 1 disc onto the investigator.”, really only talking about the new tokens.

Aha thx so much for your feedback fa81 and gnocchi. Yes I understand your point now, so you think just the log should be fixed? I still don't see the drawback to have the investigator always tell the 100% truth, I don't see how any confusion can come of that. And the idea to put the investigator on an evidence location is because they're trying to find out if it's the person, place, or crime that is the one adjacent.

Ok so I see that you are absolutely right. What's causing the glitch is exactly what you described. A player puts the investigator on a location where they've already used evidence. Then the investigator no longer takes that into account. So perhaps just the log should be fixed.

The answer is China Town, Knuckles, Bank job.
and I put my investigator on China Town square, which is neighbor of both Knuckles and Bank Job(there's a disc on Bank job). The right info should be "1 disc, 2 cubes", but it only shows "1 disc, 1 cube".

The answer is Doc, Trocadero, Jewellery Heist
I put my investigator on the square below Jewellery Heist(already had a disc on it), which is not neighbor others, but this time I got a cube, indicated "Jewellery Heist".

I'm sorry I think maybe it's my misread the rules:

I already got a cube on that location and it's should be take into consideration, no duplicate info should given by investigator.

Fix in version 180508-2114. Correct or adjacent matches that already have a token on the board are counted now when placing an investigator on the same location. Nothing changes regarding token movement; it's just the log that now mentions more matches.

Is there a way to make it more visually obvious when this happens? Perhaps animate the cube moving from the location to the investigator then back to the location?

en.3.boardgamearena.com/pi?table=40424527 not fixed yet, as it seems. In game 2 of this table, PI shows me 1 relevant neighbour relevant to Trocadero (for red), round ends,there were 2 relevant neighbours in the end.
