Welcome to the most famed Geisha street in the old capital, Hanamikoji. Geishas are elegant and graceful women who are skilled in art, music, dance, and a variety of performances and ceremonies. Greatly respected and adored, Geishas are masters of entertainment.
In Hanamikoji, two players compete to earn the favor of seven illustrious Geishas by collecting each Geisha’s preferred performance item. With careful speculation and a few bold moves, can you outsmart your opponent to win the favor of the most Geishas?
The key of the game mechanics lies in the way the cards are played. Each player has four action tokens, which he/she will use exactly once during his turn:

Choose one face-down playing card that will count for you at the end of the turn.

Choose two face-down playing cards that will NOT count towards the end-of-turn score.

Choose three cards to reveal. Your opponent chooses one to play on his side of the board, and you play the other two.

Choose four cards to reveal and divide them into two pairs. Your opponent then chooses one pair to play on his side of the board, and you play the other two.
During a round, each player will have a total of ten cards in hand, but three of them will be on the opponent's side for scoring, while the other two will be played by the opponent. While it seems all easy to understand and teach, it creates outstanding strategic depth. Every step is a difficult decision, whether it's choosing the order of actions or which options to present to the opponent.
You can't guarantee that a single card in your hand each turn will count towards your own score, and the strategy of choosing which options to offer your opponent is vexing in the best sense of the word. The fact that a single item card is discarded face-down before the game begins adds a dose of uncertainty and luck, and while players can make reasonable guesses about the hidden cards in play, things can never be totally ruled out.

HANAMIKOJI: Memorias de una Geisha.
Bienvenido a la calle de geishas más famosa de la antigua capital, Hanamikoji.
Las geishas son mujeres elegantes y gráciles, expertas en arte, música, danza y una variedad de actuaciones y ceremonias.
Muy respetadas y adoradas, las Geishas son maestras del entretenimiento.
En Hanamikoji, dos jugadores compiten por ganarse el favor de siete ilustres Geishas coleccionando los objetos preferidos de cada Geisha.
Con una cuidadosa gestión y movimientos audaces, ¿podrás ser más astuto que tu oponente y ganarte el favor de la mayoría de las Geishas?
La clave de la mecánica del juego reside en la forma en la que se juegan las cartas.
Cada jugador tiene cuatro fichas de acción, que utilizará exactamente una vez durante su turno:
- Elige una carta boca abajo que contará para ti al final del turno.
2) Elige dos cartas boca abajo que NO contarán para la puntuación del final del turno.
3) Elige tres cartas para revelar. Tu oponente elige una para jugar en su lado del tablero y tú juegas las otras dos.
4) Elige cuatro cartas para revelar y divídelas en dos pares. Luego, tu oponente elige una pareja para jugar en su lado del tablero y tú juegas con las otras dos.
Durante una ronda, cada jugador tendrá un total de diez cartas en la mano, pero tres de ellas estarán del lado del oponente para puntuar, mientras que las otras dos las jugará el oponente. Si bien parece fácil de entender y enseñar, crea una profundidad estratégica excepcional. Cada paso es una decisión difícil, ya sea elegir el orden de las acciones o qué opciones presentar al oponente.
No puedes garantizar que una sola carta en tu mano cada turno cuente para tu propia puntuación, y la estrategia de elegir qué opciones ofrecerle a tu oponente es desconcertante en el mejor sentido de la palabra. El hecho de que una sola carta de elemento se descarte boca abajo antes de que comience el juego agrega una dosis de incertidumbre y suerte y, si bien los jugadores pueden hacer conjeturas razonables sobre las cartas ocultas en juego, nunca se pueden descartar por completo.
